Mitch Baranowski, editor of “Austin’s Music Scene,” takes the stage at Story Department, Austin Bat Cave’s longest-running storytelling night, as part of the Texas Book Festival’s 2026 Lit Crawl.
Inspired by NYC’s The Moth, Story Department invites Texas Book Festival authors to tell true stories, 10 minutes or less, on a theme. This year’s theme: “Do You Believe in Magic?”
Lit Crawl is the festival’s after-dark, more irreverent side, with readings and literary fun at three venues along historic Red River.
This event is free but you must be 21 years or older. Hosted by Austin Bat Cave, a literary nonprofit offering free creative writing programs to students in Title I schools since 2006.
